Over and back today, no overnight. Global settlent conference of 3 class actions against 2 companies this afternoon , catastrophic consequences if we don’t settle, blah, blah blah....I bet you are all tired of this by now. I know I sure am.
Meeting the client for coffee at the airport before court because Monterey County ag people like to meet here. I really need a vacation. I just need to survive today. I am going on a long motorcycle ride in the hills tomorrow.

Im really annoyed by the fact that even if it has a spanish-origin (as the old capital of the Californias ) “monterey” is written with a soft “R.”
If y’all really wanna play with phonetics, go ahead and rename Texas to Tejas.
Also, why was the capital moved to Sacramento? Monterey is superior.

Monterey used to be cool now it’s home to lawyer stuff.

At least they only dropped an ‘r’, they still get the pronunciation right. I once heard someone say “ell-kay-j
on”, meaning El Cajón.

Well, it’s not the biggest sin. I am absolutely
appalled by “Los An-gell-es.
”

There’s another one of these. Just south of LA there is a town called “San Pedro”. Considering the spelling and the fact that it’s obviously of Spanish origin, I just read it as “Pay -droh”. But I have been corrected that its actually “Pee-droh”. Well you bastards should have made its spelt “San Pidro” if you wanted it pronounced properly when read!!

Im slightly amused by how, in a map, around half the towns are in spanish and half are in english.
It must be really annoying for everyone in California; even the native Spanish speakers.
“Oiga jefe, ya nos vamos a Bakersfield
”
In Spains, you’d pronounce that as ¨Bak-ers-feil-ed”

Americans, even Spanish speaking ones, have a hard time with their “erre”. My daughters have been taught Spanish by Mexicans, and can roll their rr’s better than some of our chicano friends.
